Our Journey
Galvani Tech Ltd is a spinout company from Ulster University specialising in designing novel wireless power supply and charging systems for medical implants such as artificial hearts, left ventricular assist devices (LVADs) and others medical implants.
Our Technology
The Galvani Tech solution is a novel thin and flexible coil design, allowing cooling using tissue blood flow around the coil. Additionally, a proprietary pulsatile charging protocol has been shown to minimise tissue heating.
Our Missions
Heart failure is a devastating disease that affects more than 10 million people in Europe and the US. Galvani Tech is the result of a 10-year research collaboration between a cardiologist and a group of Bioengineer Researchers at Ulster University. We will eliminate driveline-related infections by minimising dermal tissue heating effects and providing high power (5W to 10W) for LVADs.
